Almost everyone that plays basketball wants to do 1 thing. Dunk. In order to dunk, you need to be able to jump higher. To jump higher, you need to build more than your leg muscles like everyone says. You need to build all of your muscles. Not only will you be able to jump higher but you will be able to run faster and rebound too.
Step
1. Start by working on your calves. Do about 500 calf raises and 400 toe rises. (This will hurt a lot so begin with about 50 calf raises and advance to 500 raises. Don’t let your heels touch the ground when doing the calf raises. If you do this right this will develop your explosive muscles.)
2. Then, jump up and down for as long as you can.
3. After, you want to work on your thighs. Do at least 50 squats a night and increase when you get use to it. (Note: Working out your thighs is key to having a higher jump; especially if you only make perfectly vertical jumps.)
4. Next, you should build harder abs. Do crunches for as long as you can to build upper abs. Then do reverse crunches until you get tired to build lower abs. (Your arch of your back and abs creates more force toward your target.)
5. After that, try to focus on your shoulder muscles and biceps. Find exercises that you find beneficial and do them. (Swinging your arms up into your jump gives you more force into your jump).
